By: Crossville Raceway USA Reporter

Crossville, TN (May 9th) - Crossville Raceway USA was the sight for some good racing Friday night. In Late Model Stocks, it was Crossville's #96 Sam Williams setting fast time in qualifying with a lap of 13.556. Williams would be joined on the front row of the 25-lap feature by his nephew, #95 Brandon Williams. As the race started, it was Sam getting a good jump and taking the lead. Sam would lead up until lap 2, when his coil wire came off, and he went to the pits. This gave Brandon the lead, and he would put it on cruise control the remaining laps to take his second win of the season. Second would go to #25 Lynn Selby, #3r Robert Edwards was third, #4x Joe Cline fourth, and #13 Jim Bolen rounded out the top five.
The UMP Open Wheel Class saw Knoxville's #36 Billy Palmer Set fast time with a 13.770 lap. Qualifying saw some major contenders go out, as #7 Steve Mullinax and #76 Michael Asberry experienced mechanical problems that ended their nights. Palmer would grab the lead at the green, and lead all the way to checkers for his first win of the season. #28 Jeff Cotterman finished second and #29 Joey Cotterman was third.

Sparta's #20x Mike Selby was the winner in the Pro Street Class for the second week in a row. Also for the second week in a row, #5 Jesse Lowe was his toughest foe. Lowe would hound Selby's back bumper for fourteen laps of the fifteen lap feature. Lowe would get loose in turn four on the last lap, ending his chances and also allowing his dad, #55 Duke Lowe to get by for second. #11x Chris Croinex was fourth and #20 Mike McGuire rounded out the top five. Jesse Lowe won the heat race.

In the Mini Mod Class, it was Kingston's #38 Brad Hamilton sweeping the night, as he won the heat race and led flag-to-flag for his second win in a row. #8 Derrick Hutchings ran a strong second, #32 Herman Radke third, #01 Casey Dill fourth, and #3 Greg Henderson rounded out the top five.

The Pure Mini Class saw the eventual winner take the lead on the last lap for the second week in a row. #7 Kenneth Kizzar was the leader as the white flag came out, with #j27 J.D. Rector in second. In turn two, Rector went up into Kizzar, getting both cars sideways. The incident allowed #46 Cody Rector to slide by for the lead and the win. #55 Carl Griffith was second, J.D. was third, #93 Raymond Manning fourth, and #11 Andy Wilson rounded out the top five.
